Labyrinth
Thanks to a
very generous gift by a local Episcopalian the Episcopal churches in Western
Maryland have a portable labyrinth to use for spiritual growth and nurture.
A labyrinth is a ancient tool used for prayer and meditation and has been
used consistently throughout the last millennium of Christianity. The most
famous labyrinth in the world is the great labyrinth on the floor of
Chartres Cathedral in France.
At St. John's we will be using
the labyrinth regularly as part of our Wednesday evening Taize services, in
our campus ministry activities, and other special opportunities.
Any churches interested in using
the labyrinth in their own facility, or in ours, may contact the
Area Missioner
for Western Maryland.
